LMITC Services

LMITC's primary purpose is to provide advice to Government on behalf of industry, ensuring all nationally recognised training programs and packages reflect the current and future needs within the industry. The LMITC also ensure that the quality of this training remains at the highest level and advocates the benefits of participating and supporting training.

LMITC's industry coverage includes:-

Furnishing industries:-
Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather industries:- LMITC provides independent information to industry, training providers and relevant Government agencies on training and skills recognition arrangements. LMITC also actively promotes training initiatives (i.e. School based apprenticeship programs, apprenticeships and traineeships).

A key role of LMITC is to assist in the development, review and implementation process of the National Training Packages for furnishing and textiles, clothing, footwear and leather industries.

LMITC Structure

LMITC is overseen by a Management Committee consisting of industry and employee representatives that operate through three key committees, representing the industry sectors in the light manufacturing industries:- Members of the two industry sector committees report back all key issues and information, providing the Management Committee with direction to LMITC's key objectives and activities and the overall strategic direction.
